Cardiff Masonic Hall

The largest Square and Compasses made of ice to arrive at Cardiff Masonic Hall has been unveiled.  As part of a recent wedding fair held at the Hall, award winning ice sculpture artists Gareth and Laura Giles displayed several works of art.

As a special commission, the square and compasses is one of the less usual works undertaken.

In addition to providing works of art, the couple also run team building events for groups to enjoy and learn from the experience.

Local company  The Ice Academy Sculptures was established in June 2012 by Gareth and Laura Giles.  Providing unique works of art for weddings, table pieces, corporate promotions

The Ice Academy was created to provide a facility where anyone could experience the unique thrill of ice sculpting.
The Ice Academy made it’s television debut on Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience – The Wedding Planner episode.  Rhod enjoyed his time sculpting, "He really didn’t want to put down his chisels but his schedule was tight and time was short", said Gareth. "We think he did very well given the circumstances."
